Birdcage Side Chair Class (March 6-13) Deposit
This non-refundable $250 deposit will hold your spot in my March 6-13 (8 day) Birdcage Side Chair Windsor Chairmaking Workshop located at 292 S Main Street in Sheffield, MA.
This Birdcage sidechair, designed by Curtis Buchanan, is a lightweight chair with "no extra wood." The 11 parts above the seat are steam bent, with three spindles passing through to the top crest which joins to the posts with the beautiful carved false miter joint. It's a puzzle and still a bit of a brain teaser after the umpteenth one.
Due to the complexity of this project, previous green wood and/or hand tool chairmaking experience is required.
